THIS WEEK AT OCGO
After AG Rob Bonta leaked personal, confidential data on thousands of Orange County residents on the internet, Gavin Newsom remains silent on the issue, Bonta is outright gaslighting, and much of the media is sweeping it under the rug.
Since OCGO's been forced to get to the bottom of the issue and hold Bonta and Newsom accountable, it's up to us.
Doors open at 6PM for food and mingling amongst your fellow 2A activists, and the meeting will start at 6:30PM!
Please note you do not have to be a member to attend. We encourage and welcome everyone to join us! ALL ARE WELCOME!
Reminder: Good Cause is removed from CCW Requirement! Get your application in ASAP! Join our next CCW Seminar Monday if you have questions!
OCGO will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they are issued and in our CCW Seminars. Updates to our CCW page on our website are in process as well. Stay tuned...
If the "good cause" question is still listed in your CCW application, please put "Not Applicable" in the space provided. We recommend starting the process ASAP. You can also check for updates on the OC Sheriff CCW Website
Also join us for our next CCW Seminar on July 25th at 7PM via Zoom/Facebook Live.

November is right around the corner! Do you have any local candidates you want us to endorse or are you a candidate?
Endorsing candidates is an important part of the political process and is a big step towards Orange County Gun Owners' goal of electing only people who respect our Second Amendment rights.
For OCGO, every day is election season and the next election is always right around the corner. OCGO is a unique political organization because we focus entirely on local Second Amendment issues. Because we are unique, it is important to understand the specifics of who, how, and why we endorse.
OCGO endorses only county and city level candidates. We do not endorse state or federal candidates because other organizations do a great job already and we do not want to duplicate efforts. We only endorse candidates for City Council, School Board, County Board of Supervisors, Sheriff, and other local boards like water, fire, etc.
OCGO’s Criteria for Endorsements:
The candidate’s stance on the Second Amendment and Second Amendment issues. Does the candidate oppose gun bans, ammunition registration, and accessory bans? Does the candidate support issuing carry permits for the purpose of self-defense? And will the candidate do more than just say they support the Second Amendment? We want to support people who will actively work to protect and restore our Second Amendment rights.
The viability of the candidate’s campaign. By endorsing a candidate, we are asking our members and supporters to donate money and time to their campaign. Our endorsement is not just a voting guide. We will not ask our members to give time and money to a candidate who does not have the proper infrastructure in place to win or has not done enough to raise the money needed to get their message to voters.
The candidate’s character. Even if a candidate is pro-Second Amendment and has a viable campaign, if they have done something that is serious and verifiable to prove they do not have the character to hold public office, we will not endorse. How can we trust a candidate to do the right thing on the Second Amendment if they cannot do the right thing personally or professionally?
If you have a favorite local candidate or are a candidate, please contact us or email [email protected] We want to make sure candidates get our questionnaire and meet with each candidate. Once a candidate is endorsed, OCGO will encourage our members to volunteer for and donate to endorsed candidates. OCGO spends money on behalf of our endorsed candidates to make sure their voters vote for them.
Blog: Self-Defense in New York City – At what point does self-defense become murder?
Since this article was published on July 17, the charges against the clerk have been dropped.
In New York City on July 1st a 61-year-old man was assaulted behind the counter of the business in which he worked. The man defended himself with a knife killing his assailant and was subsequently arrested and charged with murder. Many say the murder charge is outrageous and the clerk clearly acted in self-defense, others disagree. Continue Reading....
